Late Roman Bronze Follis

    My dad stumbled upon this cool bronze coin (biggest ancient I have at the moment) at a coin shop and gave this to me since he knew I liked this stuff. :)

    Maximinus II Daia
    AD 305-313
    Bronze Follis
    Obverse: Laurete head right. GAL VAL MAXIMINVS NOB CAES
    Reverse: Genius standing, holding cornucopia and patera. GENIO CAESARIS

    Nice find. There are some very attractive, satisfying coins from this era. Here are two of mine, but the one with the glossy green patina is impossible to photograph, and I've given up trying to do better.

    They feel good in the hand. As you say, they are larger and heavier than later LRB's.
