I love ASE proofs, too. That's about all the business the Mint gets from me.

 

There is still Friday and Saturday. This is the second one of these I bought this month. Found it yesterday at the pawn shop. Couldn't pass it up for $14. Plus the owner was knowledgeable enough not to charge sales tax. I paid $20 for the one I bought at the coin show earlier in the month.

 

didn't they make some that were domed ?

 

Just checked, the
Standing Liberty quarter Gold, and
Walking Liberty half gold
are still available. Do they continue to sell these until stock is sold, or melt what's left over after the new year or a certain time period?

 

They were all domed... the clad half had the smallest curve though, so it does not show in pictures as well.

 

My last coin of 2016 is dated 2017.
Crappy pic aside, the Queen suffered minor facial injuries when she was dropped by my toddler.

My last few pickups were closer to bullion grade. I picked up 2 Gold Eagle Indians 1909-S and a 1910-S, and 3 BU gold sovereigns 1958, 65 and 66.

I have one nice Roosie on the way, we'll see if it arrives tomorrow!

It looks like this group will be my last purchase of 2016. Got them as a single lot on eBay so I could play "Follow the Lead Picture" post. I needed five of the dates.

 

Out for delivery now & was my last buy of the year.

Those cheesy "America's Rarest Coins" repros aren't actually that terrible to look at -- much better than other large-format copies I've seen (yes, they're stamped). They're also 2oz of .999 silver each. They seem to go for $45-60 each on eBay.

With the two 1985 Onzas, that's 10oz of .999, and around $4.50 FV of coin silver (counting the 5 war nickels as 5 cents each and the two 40% Kennedys as 20 cents each).

$76 shipped. And that's why you camp on the eBay BIN new listings.

 

Haha one more, just under the wire. An Ebay auction for an 1886o Morgan raw xf. Will be a few days before arrival and pics.

 

I'm buying a ATB 5oz coin for my son's bday in late Jan .. but I can wait until the 1st.

The last coin I RECEIVED in 2016 was a 2016 Unc $5 Gold National Park from the mint. Hoping for a new key coin! Should find out next week.
