Picked this up last night. Needed it for my Full Horn collection. A little weak on the right side, but, has a nice head.
I assume those photos were the sellers and not yours. I'd like to see better photos when you get it in-hand. The current photos make the coin look out-of-round. Better photos and lighting would be nice.
It just seems that with tensions in the country and the world running high, perhaps investments in coins may not be the best idea, but I'm not sure.
Well, I for one, am not going to give up something I love to do, because of that. There's something fulfilling about the hunt and the find that I've enjoyed for many years and I know for years to come.
Yes, as have I, since I "found" an 1858 American quarter in my change at the Canadian National Exhibition 1n 1949,but even today, because of the commonality of the coin, it is hardly worth much more than about a dollar, after more than 70 years. I do enjoy examining coins, though I will never be expert enough to rate really nice coins, although I may do okay with BU (beat up) coins. I remember searching for a 1950-D nickel for years, then finally my wife bought one for my unfinished set of Jefferson nickels. Quire a relief, though I may still lack a 1938-D.
You realize you just came on a coin collector forum and basically put us down for collecting coins right now. Your either stupid or crazy ... one or the other. I'm gonna guess stupid.
Investments regarding collector coins are surely a deed gone south. Collect because you like to and invest in a storied mutual fund or the dreaded stock market.
