Well, as indicated on a previous thread, I took an ebay risk and bought an NGC certified 1953 S Franklin half to "complete" my set. I must say I'm very pleased with the purchase, despite some details I won't mention because I don't want to ruin your perception of the coin. So, here she is:

Ain't she purty?!

Couple little announcements: As the set is completed I'm going to delete all photobucket pics and inventory the Franklins in the manner stylized in the pic above in an appropriate album. Sorry if that causes anyone difficulties. I know I become slightly frustrated when I see a thread title that catches my attention, click on it, and the pic has been deleted, but I want a nicely organized photo inventory.

Secondly, when I have completed such an endeavor, I thought about posting a "Spot the AU Frankie" thread. For most who keep up, my set is "complete" in the sense that the Franklins are all raw AU or better. That was my initial goal when I started the set and I accomplished the goal. However, as I was complying the set I sort of became attracted to the MS 63 or better and will now work on upgrading. I thought that when I complete the photo gallery I would post the link and see how many of you guys could spot the AU in relation to the other MS as well as other various attributes such as varieties and distinguishing lower MS from upper. What do you think? Good idea/worth the effort? I thought it would serve good to see how well I developed my grading skills, compare other's style of grading, foster some conversation about the series, and maybe everyone can grow a little better at grading them in the process.

Well, off to drool at the complete set once more! Such euphoria seems to feed that collecting monster!
