Large silver coins can be pretty cool, but I think pretty much all coins are cool when they are large. It gives the artists who made them originally more leeway to add in details, and if nothing else you don't have as much trouble seeing the small details as you would with a smaller coin.

I prefer the Peace dollar, which was minted from 1921-1935. It's my second favorite US design, after the Saint Gaudens $20 gold piece, but I won't ever have any of them, as I can't afford it.

Here is what the Peace dollar looks like. I know this is a world coin forum but the US IS part of the world, last I checked

Along the lines of the Thalers mentioned above, here is mine, Sorry for the lousy picture quality, as it's a simple scan, not a photograph like the Peace above. I really need to work on taking some more pictures, eh? I am not sure of those are scratches or adjustment marks on the bust, but I don't mind either way, I still treasure this coin, it was the first coin, or in fact any item I have ever owned, from before the 1800s. I paid $18 for it in 2008. This is between the size of the large US Dollar and the US Half dollar but closer in size to the Morgan and Peace.

I inherited the Peace dollar shown above from my late father, along with three other Peace dollars and two Morgans.
