I just wanted to share this sestertius-sized provincial from Antioch of Severus Alexander. I received it in a group lot about a month ago, but only just now got around to taking a photograph of it. I really like the swimming river god at the bottom of the reverse. Severus Alexander (A.D. 222-235) AE 8 Assaria SYRIA, Seleucis and Piera, Antioch mint. Obv: AVT K M AV CE AΛEΧAN[ΔPOC CEB] Rev: ANTIOX - [ΩN] ME KOΛ - Tyche, seated on rocks, facing left, holding grain ears. River god, swiming left, below. [Ram above.] All between S and C. 33 mm, 19.5g. Any other river gods out there? Let's see some.
Two coins from Antioch (Trajan and Maximinus II); thus, the river god shown with Tyche on each of them is Orontes -- as, presumably, is yours: Roman Alexandria, seated Nilus above crocodile (Hadrian):

For countermark, Howgego 803. Very rare. Areas of weakness, otherwise, about very fine.
