Does anyone collect them? I really like these coins, but I can't seem to find much information about them online. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places or they're actually called something else. Can anyone direct me to (some) article(s) about them? Thanks.
What exactly are you looking for? General dates, mintage and pricing? Krause catalogues are your best bet for general info.
Gotcha. Hmmm...I haven't seen anything online recently. I have seen a book that covers British coppers, but that was a long time ago. Can't remember the publishers name though. Now you got me wondering too. I have many British copper pennies in my collection and some more info would be nice. We'll have to sit and wait for a British copper penny guru to enlighten us.
I love em. Here are a few links that I use for British pre decimal stuff: http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/ http://www.predecimal.com/
The coins are from the U.K., if that's what you're inquiring. I'm not really concerned about where the articles are from, however. As long as they're written in English and the information is reliable.
Thank you. That's more info than I already had, which was none. Ha ha ha. For example: I didn't know that they switched from copper to bronze in the 1860's.

The largest copper Pennies were called Cartwheel Pennies, they were made of pure copper. 1797 - 1807 The Penny weighed one ounce and the Two Pence weighed 2 ounces The Victoria Pennies before 1860 were copper and slightly larger than those after 1860.
