Just adding Photos for those wondering what we are talking about. The tip of the 1 is close to both the Hair and the curl (which identifies it as a draped bust by the way) It is evenly spaced but there is space between the 6 and the bust. This eliminates all obverses except Obverse 11. Obverse 11 is paired with Reverses Q (NC-4), R (S-100) and S (S-101). Both gaps at ED and ST are distant eliminating Reverse Q (ED gap is close) and Rev S (ED is close and S is high). This leaves Reverse R where both ED and ST gaps are distant. The interesting thing on this particular coin is what appears to be a break from the rim through the outer serifs of E toward the wreath. Apparently, no one has documented this crack or at least we can't locate any reference to it including Breen and Sheldon. I don't have Noyes reference, but I think Conder does. Other late state die states have a break over ATES OF but this coin is too damaged to confirm this break. It is perhaps a new Terminal die state. Check this out for a possible confirming second example. It's rough due to corrosion, but I think it has the same crack. http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1154&lotNo=9102#Photo Or maybe not. On second look, the 'crack' on the comp seems further left than the outer edge of the serifs. Perhaps just corrosion.
