Hello everybody! This is part 2 to the previous thread I just posted. Here we go! Another of the braided hair large cents: 1849 1C. I thought this one would be easy because of the triangular die defect between the 7th and 8th stars. I seem to have narrowed it down to Newcomb-21, Newcomb-22, and Newcomb-26. Newcomb-2, was similar, but I didn’t think the point of the curl matched up. Do all of these have the same obverse die? For the fourth, and final coin, we have a coronet head large cent I bought many years ago: 1835 1C, a long time ago I attributed it Newcomb-19, however it has been a long time and I was less-experienced then. I was curious to see anybody’s thoughts on this one. Thank you to anybody who provides any input on these coins. I am new and inexperienced with Early American Coppers, although I would love to get into them more, so anything you might have to say is really absolutely appreciated. Thanks all! SorenCoins.
Your 1849 is N-21, scarce. You need Grellman's book. Your 1835 is most likely N-7 but this piece may be too far gone to ever tell for sure. Drop me an email at theJohn@sbcglobal.net with any other LC attribution Q's & I may be able to help U.
Mr. Wright, I appreciate your input and expertise. Thank you very much. I should order Grellman's book as well as yours, since I am still very new to EACs. Once again, I am very grateful for your help. SorenCoins.
