And a nice one! Value? I guess what someone is willing to pay. $10 or $30? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...nation&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
Eh, if I was a big time error collector like @paddyman98, I may shell out a few bucks on it. BUT I'm not. I would only pay a few dollars for it. That's just me though.
Yeah, that's probably about what I'd expect. The coin grades VG Details, Damaged. So, it's a $3-$4 coin, if you want to be generous. With the lamination adding a small amount of interest, $7 seems fair (if a bit strong, but it's a big lamination). (now, if they had the piece that fell off still, that would be another story and worth quite a bit more, even as a damaged coin) Laminations on nickels are quite common, as the alloy was tricky.
Oh yeah, now that's cool. I've seen the two pieces slabbed together in a multiholder and designated as separated pieces. Bids went wild. Is that yours?
Both pieces were in the roll? Was it still attached, even loosely, or just sorta sitting there? That's crazy awesome. I would have flipped my lid if I found that in a roll!
