Lamination error?

I’m trying to learn the differences between actual coin errors and post mint damage. So I found this 1913 penny and it appears to have lamination issues. The area on the obverse is rough and appears to be flaking off. There are several small areas on the reverse that also appear to be splitting open.

Is this considered an error? Is there any value in coins like this. 5E1C9AFE-8A48-42A5-97B1-F080470E502F.jpeg 8BCB5A5B-8B80-401A-992C-DC90E93931E7.jpeg DBEF06C5-0A5B-4A9A-9C0B-C478D52E361E.jpeg

Oldhoopster It seemed like a good idea at the time.

    You’re right, it’s a nice lamination error.

You said you are trying to learn about errors and I believe you are going about it the right way. See something different, do some research, come up with an idea, and get it confirmed. That’s a great way to learn.

A very nice lamination error. Not a lot of value but a very nice error to find. It's a keeper.

I have one as well. Put it in an airtight or a flip to protect that attached lamination. You don't want it to break off.

Of course it’s in a airtight!

Interesting topic.. you should start a thread “show your lamination errors”

I think it would be neat to see others!
