Very interesting cool note with some history.Hopefully some more knowledgeable members about this will come.
That's a really nice "Short Snorter"...Congrats! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_snorter#:~:text=A short snorter is a,the military and commercial aviation. It would be an added bonus if there were some famous signatures on it.
I bet quite a few of those vets are still around. Could have been the 57th Signal Co. or maybe the 57th Field Artillery Battalion or even the 57th Troop Carrier Div.---these guys: https://www.57thalumni.com/history/noteables---korean-war
That's a real cool short snorter. Pretty sure it is for the 7th Infantry Division that was in Korea. Here is their sign from Camp Casey in Korea: Camp Casey looks way different today
So true! I was thinking about people who are famous for other things, before or after war. For instance, a WWII short snorter with Jimmy Stewart's signature would be quite an artifact! Here's a 1947 Dwight Eisenhower short snorter...
We had a short snorter here on CT once that many of us signed and was sent everywhere. Myself included signed. Link: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/short-snorter-project.377012/#post-6698523 Here is that note we signed... if you look in the center you will see my Spirityoda (Craig Wilson) signature in blue ink... I wonder how many CT'ers remember doing this ???
I remember the note passing around for quite awhile, spirityoda. I didn't sign it but wish I had. It's good to see it's been taken care of. Bruce
Find one with both Ted Williams and John Glenn, who were in the same squadron, and I think you might have some money there.
