I've had these Korean cash coins in my possession for some time. I haven't been able to find any comprehensive information on these. I have Hartill's Chinese & Japanese cash coin books. Has he issued any books on Korean or even Annam cash coins as of yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a few of these. I found information in an old coin book: Coins of the World, 1750 - 1850, Third edition by W D Craig, 1976.
third one down should be general military office issue 1 Mun series 10, no date on coin, 1757 Krause KM #218 and should measure between 25 and 26 mm.
top one is Seoul Charity Office 2 Mun series 2, 1695-1742, it should measure 32-33mm. it is either KM#168 OR KM#169 depending on what the character on the reverse right is
Here's a website that has a lot of scans, it may be a start: http://coins.sudokuone.com/korea/korea_cash.htm The third one down looks like 24.2.10x here: http://coins.sudokuone.com/korea/page11.htm
Yes, Hartill did a Korean book. Bob Reis has it in stock. Eithr that or you can find a copy of Mandel fairly cheap ($25-30 ish).
