<p>[QUOTE="kaparthy, post: 3354253, member: 57463"]You might not know the extent of the problem. Over the years, I have been interested by investigations into why people accept falsehoods. On the other side, I have book right now, <i>Blink</i> by Malcolm Gladwell, about how people with deep and broad experience make good decisions intuitively. So, just to say, we are not always all of us idiots. But often we are. On my blog, I have some book reviews:</p><p><br /></p><p>Why Evidence is Not Enough</p><p><a href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2011/09/why-evidence-is-not-enough.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2011/09/why-evidence-is-not-enough.html" rel="nofollow">https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2011/09/why-evidence-is-not-enough.html</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Crimes Against Logic</p><p><a href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2017/06/crimes-against-logic-exposing-bogus.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2017/06/crimes-against-logic-exposing-bogus.html" rel="nofollow">https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2017/06/crimes-against-logic-exposing-bogus.html</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Four Books About Bad Science</p><p><a href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2013/01/four-books-about-bad-science.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2013/01/four-books-about-bad-science.html" rel="nofollow">https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2013/01/four-books-about-bad-science.html</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Science Versus Common Sense</p><p><a href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2014/08/science-versus-common-sense.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2014/08/science-versus-common-sense.html" rel="nofollow">https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2014/08/science-versus-common-sense.html</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Slow Down and Think</p><p><a href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2014/08/science-versus-common-sense.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2014/08/science-versus-common-sense.html" rel="nofollow">https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com/2014/08/science-versus-common-sense.html</a></p><p><br /></p><p>They all have something to offer, but the last is really good because the author, Daniel Kahneman is psychologist with a Nobel Prize in Economics.
