KNIGHTS TEMPLAR COIN...TWO RIDERS?..

    This appears to be correct. Just to second this assessment: if you scroll down this article about a small hoard of Mamluk and Armenian coins: http://www.forumancientcoins.com/armeniannumismatics/swat 1.htm, you'll find pictures of two overstruck Armenian Takvorins (no. 15 and 16) that are very similar to @ominus1 's coin (i.e. the same or a comparable overstrike on the same type of coin). The article itself is an interesting read, too.

    ..as a correction, with help from our good & knowledgeable peeps, this coin looks to be a takvorin of Levon/Leon/Leo lV, king of Armenia(1309-August 28,1341) tribute money paid to and overstruck in Arabic by Al Nasr Muhammed in 1337-38. what a history behind this little piece.
