Congrats on the find, I metal detect and my oldest Irish Halfpenny was from 1723, my oldest coin is a french louis XIV liard from 1655-1658, and a 1696 Britannia Halfpenny.I have found various large coppers, I have found more than one King George II Halfpennys but never anything King George III, then again, the places I go are oldest than the 1770's. Again, Congrats on the find, I hope to find one soon!
Completely awesome. I have a metal detector but have nowhere to use it. But I've found a 1863 Indian head penny in a cent roll from a bank. That was cool. I wish there were some places around me that had some history and were accessible
I haven't got lucky in a while from roll searching so I kinda stopped. I do better at flea markets and the occasional show
I don't do flea markets. I'm in bottle collecting also. I bought a 500$ bottle. Payed 175$ for it. Sad thing is it was refilled WORTHLESS! So I d do that anymore.
I've made some amazing finds at antique/flea market. I've made 100 to 300 dollar profits on single coins or sets I've found. As long as you know more than the seller, you'll do fine. As for bottle collecting, I don't even know what that is.
