    Tried blocking him

I don't know if this means anything or someone else said this yet but I just tried bloclking the 5 or 6 ids you guys all dug up and ebay came back this"

You know what bothers me a "newbie as well" I actually thought SGS was another grading company not some loser and his loser wife hiding behind multiple ids grading coins:mad: .

Has anyone heard from Stevesgiftshopp or Aboncom lately? Perhaps they're still on eBay scamming gullible people like Pamela 'pjd1966' Donnelly the Savannah Scammer did by using the handle 'estatedoctor'.

Hello all, I just asked the ebay boards the following question, will they come down on me for asking this?

I have read the following and want to know what is going on, and if the following is true:

1.) SGS is owned and operated by the eBay powerseller Aboncom out of Ohio

2.) SGS is NOT a grading service, they are just a packaging and marketing service for this seller's coin inventory. You will find their coins in plastic, gold foil tape, and 99% of them will have labels with either MS70 or PR70.

    Thanks.........

Probably, if they are still a power seller.

Perhaps,Aboncom has managed to get his friends to shill bid on his coin lots.If that is the case, then he deserves to be NARU'd & taken out of circulation (a pun!) & closed down.

Well I bought 3 SGS eagles about a year ago. yes MS 70's. I have never heard of this information before. I thought the coins were decent, although I had reservations that they were not the real deal when I received them in the plastic/ gold tape packaging. I am glad to know that they are not genuinely MS 70's as I would not want to sell them as so later on.
Thank you for the heads up.

    Hi,
Sorry but I just checked and you have a Power Seller Block on you, so we are not permitted to sell to you.

Gee.....all I asked was if they could explain their 538 negatives lol

Better run their feedback profile through the Toolhaus & post the results here,so that we know who to take a 10,000 foot bargepole to,& who we have to stay well clear of.

I had ask the ebay boards the following question yesterday:

"What the Deal with SGS coins? Are they a scam?"

As of today the pos is gone, and it had a bunh of comments yesterday. Today I received the following message....The specified topic [1000486181] was not found.

I guess I asked the wrong question.

Lemmyk,if Scumburger 'Grading' 'Service' has been exposed as a scam, then it IS a scam! There's no ifs,no buts,& definitely,no maybes!

Hi Aidan, thanks for the definitive answer. I only used the word "maybe" because I here that they come after people legally and it did surprise me that someone probably SGS had my posting on ebay taken down.

If that is true that they because of their PowerSeller status have the pull to have ebay stifle any debate over them as a business then ebay should be ashamed of themselves and the scumbags at SGS who have a nice racket that fools new coin buyers and even some like myself who actually thought that they were a real grading service until all of the bad things I have read here and on other blogs about them should be ashamed.

They are a big business in bed with ebay, end of story.

PS: I once went up against SLQMAVEN and I think because of his PowerSeller status lost my money and he never replaced a damaged Proof set I purchased through Paypal(He said I never sent it back to him, I did) Ebay took my negative on him down(They said I got too personal) and he actually gave me my one and only negative. So I have gone up against these powersellers and you can't win.:headbang:

If you are returning things from eBay, always use delivery confirmation. That way you have proof tht they received the return.

I think there should be a place on this forum for members to list those who we've proven to be frauds and cons on internet auction sites, so that others don't fall victom to them in the future. I do a lot of my buying online, especially at EBay, mostly because of a lack of coin stores in my area, and I'm shocked there are so many out there who risk serious federal penalties by ripping others off. It would be a great service to provide here if anyone has the time to assemble all the offender's names here somewhere.

    Just a thought.

Guy,I've been proposing the creation of a Coin Talk Numismatic Hall of Shame, but it won't get created, because of the risks of being sued. The nearest thing to it is www.coinaf.org & www.ripoffreport.com .

I know I should have but I trusted the guy, never again, and got beat. Lesson learned.

But what really to this day eats at me is that ONE negative I have and he had his removed.

I mentioned the guys first and last name and and called him a thief, so I got no Proof set, lost $20.00 and got a negative, not enough money to involve any help. It was always the principal.

You guys are right, if there was a web sight I would add SLQMAVEN's and have his name as well, he is currently now in Pa about30 miles away from me, I wish he had a storefront biz, I'd visit him. He moved here from Colorado formorly from California. I know all of this because I;ve watched his location changed over the last two years.

Check out his feedback on toohaus.org he is a mean SOB.
