    URGENT NOTICE!

I received a notice in the mail yesterday that the Louisville Coin Club Annual Fall Coin Show has moved.

Instead of the Ramada Inn in Jeffersonville, it is at the Ramada Inn at Zorn Avenue & Interstate 71.

(That's the Ramada in on River Road in Louisville, right next to the old Water Tower; people coming from out of town would take the Zorn Avenue exit off of 71, and they'd be right there.)

Dates and times remain the same: Sept. 22-23, 10-6:00

    Thanks Bulegill
I still hope to be there but I have a lot of things happening that week so might have to miss it---it would be the first time in 5 years I guess that I've missed that one.

    There's spelling in the South?

I thought the only thing you needed to remember to speak "southern" was that there was only one vowel sound - a short "A".

Absolutely. You just can't explain it to anyone else who hasn't heard it from birth. I've tried to explain it to Canadians, Australians, Cornishmen, New England Yankees, Scottish peers, and Puerto Ricans. Can't. Those of us lucky enough to have been born south of Mason-Dixon just have to accept that we have an accent that can't be faked, only envied.

I was born in Virginia, and have lived in Maryland (when it was still Southern), Tennessee, and Kentucky. I'm doing entry-level ministry in Pennsylvania now, where everyone makes fun of my accent. And I don't have much of one, as Speedy - if he remembers - will tell you. I'll be back down South before too long.

Hey, Bluegill. Since you've gotten them to move it into Kentucky, can you get them to move it to a month later? I'll be in Louisville on Oct 22/23. :D But, I wonder why they've shortened it to two days? As I remember, it used to be three.

    Hey KLJ
I don't seem to remember if you talked like you were from KY or not so you must have sounded A OK to me!
I'm not on my normal coputer and this old slow one is about to kill me...

Both my mom and dad are from the North and people down in KY say I talk like them and say I sound funny---I go up North and everyone says I sound like I'm from the south and sound funny---so I guess I got the both of best sides!

Back to coin show---I also thought they had it 3 days normaly.....but I'm glad to see they moved it to KY---I hope its not harder to find then the last place....the first time I think we got off the wrong exit and went around the river a few times before we found where we were ment to get off.

Don't forget if you are coming up 65 North they are closing about a 5 mile stretch starting at I264 (Watterson expressway).

The good news is that I think I will be able to wonder around for a while on Saturday. I have to be down on Zorn for one of my nephews soccer game so I plan on going to the Ramada after it for a couple of hours.

Which means, Speedy, if you're coming up I65, take the Snyder around to I71 and then turn in towards Loovuhl. Then follow Bluegill's directions. And River Rd's easy to find anyway. It's near the river (duh).

For Speedy and anyone else interested:

Ramada Inn at I-71 & Zorn Avenue
    1041 Zorn Avenue
    Louisville KY 40207

(that 40207 zip code is on the flyer for the show; it strikes me as being a little off, but it might be right...if you Mapquest it with that zip code and it doesn't work, then try it without.)

Was just on I65 and passed right through Louisville last Fri. on my way to Lexington. I just love all those black fences, horse ranches and tobacco fields.:)

Yeah - funny the rain caused 65 to be open and closed 64 because of the flooding. Was at the show for about an hour this morning. Now I have to decide if I want to go back tomorrow and buy a couple of coins. Sigh. The room was just to small.

I worked at the front table for a few hours on Friday morning. Due to the change of venue, the show was quite a bit smaller than planned. The space was smaller, so they actually had to turn away many dealers when they were signing up (I heard that a lot were turned away). As it was, we had 26 dealers and 53 tables. Also, as those of you who live in the area know, it absolutely poured rain all weekend, and many roads and parts of the Interstates were shut down. Despite that, it appeared to be a good turnout. The small room was crowded.

I was only there for a few minutes on Saturday (I would have been there longer, but I had to do lots of family-related errand running, and I had a head cold that slowed me down considerably). I didn't get to look at all I wanted, not by a long shot, and spent $20, which is almost all I had to spend.

sounds like it would have been a pretty large one if they had let all of the dealers come....maybe next year!
