Opened my box of halfs last night and it was worst then last week. Last week I got 1-40% and this week nothing. Well things changed when I got 3 rolls from the bank today. Nothing in the first 2 rolls then the last had tape on the ends. My luck changed a whole roll of Franklins.

I went through two boxes ($1000 dollars) and found a total of one 2002 P. The pickings is mighty slim these days folks. You guys must be doing too good of a job out there.

    1 Franklin
    6 1964's
    31 40%

Those are pretty good numbers for only 30 rolls Smith. Congrats! I only wish that I had done so well. My six boxes contained a grand total of four 40% Kennedy's. They were not a total loss however. By about half way through the first box, I realized that the rolls had been packed some time ago. In fact, I didn't find a single coin newer than 1989 in any if the boxes. So, I was able to pull an unusually large number of BU coins from the mid 1980's. Including several rolls worth of BU 1986's. So, there wasn't much silver, but it was still fun.

Went through two boxes. I found (15) 40%. Not bad, but nothing fantastic. I did however find a 1991S and a 1987S! In the last few months I have found 1976S, 1987S,1991S, 2002S, and a 2002S silver!

The other thing I found was one of the halves that I have marked. So far thats the first one, so I'm not changing banks to pick them up from, but I'm going to keep marking. I don't want to be spending all my time searching halves that I've already searched.

This week I got another bad box. Nothing silver. Went to another bank and the girl gave me a 40% she saved for me. I have been noticing that some of the halfs that I get from the boxes have black spray paint on them. Has anyone else seen this and what is it from?

It is likely that someone who sorted marked them in an attempt to be certain that they weren't sorting the same coins over and over again.

Just got a box today. First one ever from the bank. Went through 2 rolls. Saw a few halfs from 2000+ that should not be there because 1999 was the last year of circulation right? I did not open the other rolls yet, but I saw one clad so far.

Any advice on returning these? I have a few rolls and do not know how to roll them. Also I am not sure how happy my branch of the bank will be if I return them lose. They told me they couldnt order them in the past and I had to get them from the town over. I can go one more town over and dump them there I suppose. My bank doesnt have a counting machine though. What is the one bank that does? I may need to open an account there.

I opened an old box of stuff out of a closet and found 21-1964 Kennedy halves, 3-1966 Kennedy halves, 1-1968 Kennedy halves and 1-1969 Kennedy half dollar. Are these coins worth anything ?

    Nice finds!
By the way, how many halves are in a roll, and how much is it from the bank?

They're just loose Kennedys that were in a box. My dad collected them before he died and they were found loose in a box with a bunch of other coins.

20 halves in a roll, pic them up at the bank for $10.00 a roll if they have em.
