Kennedy Halfs

Hey I got the dirty looks until they got to know me now they know what I am after before I even get up to the teller a Couple of weeks ago one teller ask me if I wanted these 2 rolls of big dollars Eisenhowers they didn't know what they were going to do with them

The tellers at the Bank where I get my halves and the Credit Union where I change them in are all very friendly. I am already being called "The half dollar guy" at both places.

 

I suspect many of us in this thread are called "the half dollar guy" at the banks we frequent

After my "silver streak" I've come up empty in the last $300. But almost as good as finding silver is finding a bank that now orders boxes for me.....and know's I don't have an account there They all ask me ever time if I've found anything lately. Hope I do soon so I can share the joy with them.

 

Yup I am the Half Dollar guy also I would much rather find a 1982 BU than a silver but both are fun and I haven't found either in the last couple of weeks.

 

That one post wasnt an offer to buy sell or trade..it meant I was going to start putting some Kennedy's into Whitman folers!! lol..sorry..
Went to bank today..one teller had 4 halves..I asked the one next to her and she said yea, I have 31 of them. Sure I will take them I said..when I scooted over to the next spot..I almost got 31 ROLLS instead of 31 coins!! and she was only gonna charge me for the 31 coins..oops!! I stopped her..what an honest guy. I didn't get much for the 6 rolls I did buy..three rolls contained all the same coin!!! I did get enough to put into some newer albums..not a bad day

 

My Box this week only had 1-40% better luck next week.

 

two tough boxes for me this weekend. Only 1 64 and 3 40%ers.

Oh well, i guess the law of averages strikes back!

 

My dad just got 1k in halves, not a single silver, proof, or notable BU.

 

I went through 3 boxes this week:
1956 Franklin
1964 Kennedy
26 40% Kennedys
2001-S Clad Proof
By the way, what are you guys doing with the coins you find? Are you keeping them, selling them, or trading them?

I keep all my silver Kennedy's. The clad ones are only worth $1.30-$1.40.....I'm not THAT hard up for cash. Last month I got 3 rolls from the bank, came away with 1 90% and 6 40%. Not bad.

 

I sell my 40% and 2 weeks ago i sold my 90% Kennedy's for a 1923-s quarter in VG, and a 1942/1 dime certified by pcgs Vf35. I got 6.65 times face. It cost me about $115.00 to get the 2 key coins great deal I think.

 

I have just started collecting the kennedy's..I actually sold 4 rolls to a co-worker at face. Two of the rolls I got from the bank were all the same..oh well..better luck next time..I am only a half-a** collector..I just collect circulated and put them in whitman albums..for now anyway..

Mine finance my collection. I cash them in periodically to get the keys I want/need.

 

Lumberman were they rolls of silver Kennedy's or Clad you sold for face?

 

I sell a few but have a stack building up that I should sell. think I will put them in albums like one of you was saying I think thats a good idea.
