Just received my microscope in the mail. So, can I please get any comments, if I am seeing these errors correctly, DD, RPM, Kennedy's nose. I took pictures for different angles hope it helps. Thanks in advance.
I am quite sure your coin has Machine Doubling on the reverse. It looks flat and shelf-like in the photos. With coin at hand, compare it here. http://www.varietyvista.com/12 Kennedy Halves/DDOs 1973-D.htm
What does +3 mean, sorry very new to this, been collecting for awhile, but stopped posting, and researching, when ordered a microscope. So here I go. Ty
Michelle, You made really good pictures for a start, here are some tips for the future: For full coin pics, try to crop out any excess for a full image. 2 low power bulbs of 25-40 watts at 10 and 2 o’clock will balance your illumination and help cut down on glare. Close-ups get very pixelated at extreme magnification if you have a scope with less than 3MP so you’ll have to test the limits of your new scope. As you already see, just moderate magnification starkly shows every single little defect in the coins surface so you will have to learn how to take better shots that doesn’t emphasize them. Coin Talk is dependent on pictures for members to offer opinions, so be sure to post in-focus, clear photos. Remember, we are here to help you learn so do your own research and ask your questions.
