to all; thank you for your input. i have already sent one of these coins to coin world, and while i was at the long beach coin and stamp show i was directed to a fred wienberg one of the dealers in error coins at the show. i showed him the three coins that i took with me. the first was a buffalo quarter with a small dent in the exact spot were the error is located. the second quarter has only half of the error (missing the three spray like shapes emitting from the hump) and the third was the quarter in the picture above (post #9). he told me that he has seen these on ebay and that they may have sold for around ten bucks, and that it is a sizable die chip. they came strait from the mint in the mint wraped rolls. i always use gloves when i handle coins from the mint. there are no finger prints i am weary about cleaning any coins. i do not know what would be an appropriate cleaner to remove what ever debree the mint got on them with out destroying them. i bought five sets and all of the Philadelphia quarters were less than mint quality. you'd think that out of 5 rolls at least one or two would be better than an ms63. i have not recieved any word back yet from coin world they only got the coin a few days ago. would like to add the artical to this collection. as for the coment of the finger prints on the coin i dont understand what do you mean by that.
