Just your basic circulated 1882 Morgan dollar... anything special about it?

This coin grades around Fine details, I'd say, and received an old cleaning at some point in time. It's the sort of thing you'd be likely to get in a bulk bullion purchase, I reckon.

Is there any special VAM variety I'm unaware of? (I'm not a VAM-pire.)

But hey, it's still a Morgan dollar. Nothing wrong with a big piece of 19th century silver, right? (Especially if it's free.)

The main special thing about it is that I'll be giving it away. This is going to be one of the three prize options in my Giveaway #85. :)

    Sorry about the photo quality.

Cleaned or not it sure looks better than F Detail, in my opinion. I like it thanks for sharing and good luck with the giveaway.

Great looking piece. Whoever gets it should carry it in their pocket, without any other objects, for a while. That should remove the cleaning evidence. Then what you have is a great looking Morgan that had to work for a living. My favorite for eye appeal.

This coin was not selected by the final winner of Giveaway #85, so it has now been rolled over as one of the prize options in Giveaway #86.
