Very attractive posts guys!! It seems the well struck centered types with wonderful detail(s) appeal to us all LOL The variety of even a 'common' soldiers/standards reverse is predictable yet still surprising somehow when you actually contrast so many with different rulers and mints. I'll throw in one to be 'sociable':
Hello! Can anybody help me with this coin?It is Constantine 2,probably from Arles. Obv:– CONSTANTIVS N OBC, Laureate, cuirassed bust right Rev:– GLORIA EXERCITVS, Two helmeted soldiers standing with spears & shields, facing two standards between them, Laurel wreath. It is similar with some other in this post but i cannot identify clearly. Thanx!!
This is a coin of Constantius II as Caesar, not Constantine. Appears to have been minted at Constantinople, some time before 337 C.E.
Thank you for your answer! I think that it is the same with this: http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/ric/constantius_II/_arles_RIC_vII_377.jpg and is indeed Constantius 2, but probably from Arles.
