I just purchased a fantastic little collection of US (and a few world) banknotes. I am typically a coin guy, but I could t pass up this opportunity. I’d love to hear folks input on the better notes posted below.
I am picking up the collection tomorrow but took these photos when I did my initial viewing.

Now, there's something you don't see every day. (I wouldn't even know where to begin if someone offered those to me as part of a collection.)

I do love the old designs, though.

Very nice. Watched a Pawn Stars special (old one) last night that featured a $500 note and a Gold Certificate, both going for $50,000. Of course condition is everything, but if you didn't spend too much, you got one heck of a deal.

Too bad these have climbed. I always wanted to own both, (circulated), and keep them in my wallet. Don't judge me, I think it would be cool. I always keep a dozen of so hundreds in there.

My input is, did you get a good deal ?

They look in pretty good shape as well :)

Nice. A friend of mine worked in a gas station in the early 60's. He called one day and told me that he just got a $20 Gold Certificate. I said hold it until I can get there. Well, the boss came unexpectedly and took the deposit to the bank. Missed it.

I've noticed circulated $500 & $1000 notes being offered for 2 to 3X face, at the very least... but usually a bit more!

I paid a bit shy of 2x face and think I did very well. I’m not sure what I am going to do with them since they aren’t my normal focus. I think there’s plenty of meat on the bone to turn a nice little profit.

Back in the early 1990's coin dealers were selling these for about $15-$20 over face. I regret not buying some then. I've gotten some since, bank called me when they came in and sold them to me at face otherwise they had to send them to the Fed. That way I have gotten two $500 and three $1000 notes.

Of all the photos I've seen of $500 and $1,000 bills...the fronts...have never seen the backs until now. Cool.

High denomination notes have been doing very well as of late, even mid-grade examples. Personally, I would send them in for grading and encapsulation.
