I understand that the most I could lose is my cost for the item, but I mean I lost both the coin, PLUS they took the money away from me. So that's why I said I lost the coin AND the money. For tax write-offs, it is just my cost for the coin though. Anyways, just had 2 more fake purchases. One late last night, and one a couple minutes ago. Why does the scammer keep buying MY items when I am now wise to what they are doing? This is nuts.
they took the money away from me. No, they did not.It was not your money, it was the buyer's money. Or the PP account holders money, really. The tax people have it right. Are these all the same PP account? I suggest you get on the phone to Paypal, they have much better (and faster answering Customer service than ebay) and report your concerns and your evidence of fraud.
No, different ebay and different paypal accounts. Apparently, they are hacking ebay accounts that have the paypal accounts auto linked to them, so all they need is the ebay account to pay using the victims money.
I had the opposite experience once. I like several other people bought some coins from a seller and used pay pal. I didn't receive the coins for a week or so . I went to ebay intending to ask the seller if everything was ok only to find out they had canceled their ebay account. Contacted pay pal and ebay. Long story short I never got the money back or coins Ugh..... I was a seller also so I guess the risk goes both ways.
