Just got my first Napoleon AV 40 Francs

    From Maison palombo auction/ bought as "unsold' lot 255/ I really lucked out on unsold lots this year:happy:

    AV 40 Francs 1811-A Paris Mint
    Napoleon I Emperor of France 1804-15

    I was just marveling at some of Napoleon's coins on numista. Very nice coin.

    Yes, I was admiring that coin among many others on Palombo site. I thought it would go way over estimate/ to my surprise it remained "unsold". I have no willpower, so I bought:happy: it....number 900 in my collection. My fav. coin, a Roman Julia Domna Aureus went for 155K:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
