I like collecting wheaties because they cover such a huge time span. You can follow the decades or even year by year and can imagine the world events that took place. Theres alot of history in the Lincoln wheat cent. I've always liked the wheat reverse.
I like wheaties because my Grandpa used to let me dig through his tin of them. Never found any really rare ones but when I see them now I remember him.
Okay.....through Jasn's system of complete randomness (ie: put names in notepad, close eyes, move mouse around rapidly, open eyes, closest name wins)...... Arizona Jack wins the handful o' wheaties....... Coinlover gets the booby prize. Who knows what that may be??? guys.....PM me the address you want your coins sent to and I"ll get right on it... Jasn
Wow, Fantastic !!! Due to the fact there are so many YN's here and folks on a lesser budget, I will ADD some goodies to the handful and post another contest. I'll PM you my address. And THANK YOU very much !!!:hail:
I love Wheaties simply for the wheat stalks. I am a native Kansan and have been around wheat my whole life. I love getting a handful of wheat cents and comparing the details. It's such a beautiful design. I keep as many as I can find in circulation and am waiting to fill the rest of my books. I am in a rut right now since I am lacking the funds to pick and choose the ones I need. I am always on the hunt though.
well, never got my contest prize. pmed him to see what was up over a week ago, but no reply. checked on his profile and it says he han't been on here since 9-13. well, another dak i guess. arizonia jack, did you get your prize?
No, I had it sent to Vwap. I really didn't need them, so I posted another contest and added a 1910-S lincoln cent to it. I have sent the 10-S to Vwap, and he has not yet received the wheats as of yesterday. I was hoping a YN would win, and Vwap seem to fit into that, so it was a sucess, and it brought a lurker into the open.
