I've been wanting to hang a coin related poster on my wall for a long time now. So after thinking of something fun to do, I decided that a toned Carson City Morgan Set would look really good and I could keep the coin sizes decent enough that they could be seen from a few feet away.

Unfortunately, I have not been lucky enough to have had the pleasure to photograph all of the CC coins, let alone toned. So, since this is a personal use project and I am not selling the poster or using the images for any commercial gain, I made use of some fantastic images from PCGS CoinFacts. Thankfully PCGS is very generous in allowing the public to download high resolution images for personal use.

I decided on a final size of 24x36 for this poster. I went through and chose toned coins that would look good together. My personal preference for toned coins is not the wild neon rainbow, but a little different. If you've seen a lot of my toned Morgan Dollars that I post, then you have an idea of what my taste is. I've used the obverse and Reverse of each date. I did only one example for each year and excluded the major varieties to keep it simple. I was able to show the coins at double actual size, so each coin in the final print will be 3 inches in diameter. I went with a bit of a Western theme since these coins were minted in the pinnacle of the "Wild West" days. This was done using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

The image below is around 1/6th the actual size, but you can get an idea of the detail available. I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I would appreciate any feedback or comments you have.
