Backed up by bonds deposited in the name of the System at the Treasury. The only currently printed currency type. </p><p><br /></p><p><font size="3">Brown Seal</font> </p><p>Federal Reserve Bank Notes/National Bank Notes: distributed by individual banks/FRBs. Backed up by bonds deposited in the name of the National Banks or FRBs. Small Size FRBNs issued during the Depression as an emergency measure.
