Okay, but upon relooking at posted dime pic you made fun of, it's got the indentation of the inside of the "9" not once, but twice, making it a 2009/9 will get better closeups soon.

Spent hours this morning and afternoon going through fifteen pounds of post 1964 dimes I accumulated over the years because I hate carrying change. Figured I would find a bunch from 2009. Found only one, a 2009 P. Incredible considering the number minted.

I do thank you for this, but please don't worry about it, Tyler; all is well. However, do look at how this individual responded to your post (#60) and ask yourself why someone, on an educational forum, would refuse to cite their sources or share where their information supposedly came or comes from.

Unfortunately, people spew a lot of potentially harmful nonsense, even here, and such misinformation is one of the biggest problems facing this hobby as a whole. It would be nice, I agree, to always see the best in people or to try to reasonably justify their actions, but not everyone is so deserving, and the sad fact is such ridiculous claims help or benefit no one while easily causing more harm than good. Consider how you would feel if you, when very new to the hobby, had a coin you found mention of being worth $4500. I'm sure you'd be excited (as we all would have), but now think of how you'd feel to learn that all the excitement was for not, and that your coin was actually worthless. First impressions do matter, and when someone's first experience with coins is a complete letdown, let's just say it doesn't always bode well for their further involvement, and can impact the greater hobby as a whole. If you disagree I can certainly respect that, but I strongly feel that one who would intentionally mislead others isn't worth respectful consideration, or even the simple niceties they otherwise would unquestionably deserve.

I spent a quarter last week and it ended up in Southern Arizona. I know this to be a fact, but I will not reveal my sources.

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

Exactly! They are "missing" from commerce. Same with 2009 nickels.

IMG_0516.JPG After 4 months of searching pocket change, standing behind a register searching thousands of dimes... I finally found my single philly 2009 dime.

LOL, okay, puns are good, haha. I tried to get my 3 Meg photo to enhance with gimp, but I don't know if it works in here or not. My crop tool disappeared, so bear with me on this. <somehow, that message stuck on the server and didn't post. Btw, I got some new gizmos coming to get the big screen, and digital scanner for 3D objects in 2D format. I looked at the reverse of the DIME I posted, and it's double struck on the reverse, with shallow tops across letters "ED STATES OF AMERICA" in plain view. This was obvious the dime is thinner on this thin edge, with a high rim on reverse, and shallow rim on obverse. New pix coming soon. Thanks for posting, and updating.

I've got 1640 dimes. I will go through them, and report back any 2009's. (There's no "S's".)

OK miscounted its 1627. (metal detecting) the 4 best which I already cherry picked out before the 2009 search: 1964 philly 1944 philly, and 2 nice mis aligned die strikes. 1980D and 2000 P.
So far 6 2009-D's. I have 500 to go will update when I finish. I notice the D's are rarer than the P's. But most of my coinage comes from Denver.

Dug up 7 dimes today. One was a 2009-D. That's 7. Still have 500 to look through.

OK the count is complete. Out of 1634 dimes, 8 were 2009-D.
