Nice one David. Here's mine, but as of today it is no longer mine! I think you can guess who the new owner is... IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P V Laureate head right IMP XI COS XI CENS P P P Minerva standing left with spear Rome 85 AD (6th issue) 3.49g RIC 393 (R)
I too like the style of Domitian coins - this is my favourite Domitian denarius. Obv.: IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P XII - Laureate head right Rev.: IMP XXII COS XVI CENS P P P - Minerva standing left, with thunderbolt and spear; shield at her left side Mint: Rome (92-93 AD) Wt./Size/Axis: 3.25g / 18mm / 6h References: RIC 741 Acquisition: Irish International Coin Fair ATB, Aidan.
Lovely denarius, love seeing fine style Minerva-reverse Domitians on large flans. Here’s my Domitian Domitian, as Caesar (AD 81-96). AR denarius (18mm, 3.45 gm, 5h), Rome, AD 80-81. CAESAR DIVI F DOMITIANVS COS VII, laureate head of Domitian right / PRINCEPS-IVVENTVTIS, Minerva advancing right, round shield on left arm, brandishing spear in right hand and shield in left. RIC II.1 (Titus) 268.
As common as they are, I can always appreciate a nice Domitian denarius This is my current one Bought as an upgrade for this one
