I know there are sites that show you silver prices for so many pieces or ounces and would $1.75 be the correct value for a silver penny ?
Hey Brian! What do you mean by "a silver penny"? If you can find your coin on numista.com, you will probably be able to easily find the value (intrinsic) of your silver or gold coin. For example, let's say I had a Barber dime - a 1914 Barber dime, let's say. I could go to https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5830.html and down at the bottom on the left, it says the bullion value of this 90% (0.900) silver 2.5 gram coin has $1.72 of silver. Approximately. Have a terrific day! David
You can download the "Coinflation" app to your smartphone. It's much easier if your looking for the melt value of US coins. There's also this: http://www.coinflation.com/coin_calculators.html
