Hansen Though the coinage issued in her name is very extensive those minted while she was still alive are somewhat scarce. Faustina Maior died at the age of 40 two years into the reign of her husband Antoninus Pius. In response to this loss Pius had caused to be issued perhaps the most extensive commemorative coinage minted for anyone in the Imperial series.
