I did not plan to buy JC or any expensive coins after my recent solidus purchase, but I came across this denarius from a Scottish dealer when I was browsing for new vendors. The coin was listed for a really good price, and also liked the overall wear yet the name Caesar still readable. Since it took me by surprise, I decided to gift myself this lifetime issue of a Julius Caesar denarius for my birthday which comes after a fortnight from Julius Caesar's. I really hoped to get the coin by 12th July, but still happy it only took two weeks to arrive.

Military mint travelling with Caesar in Spain, 46-45 BC, 3.38g.

Obv: Head of Venus to right, wearing stephane; Cupid behind shoulder

Rev: Trophy of Gallic arms between two seated captives (could they be Gallia and Vercingetorix?); CAESAR in exergue.

Crawford 468/1

Ex Thomas Greaves

Please post your Julius Caesars or anything relevant.
