I did not plan to buy JC or any expensive coins after my recent solidus purchase, but I came across this denarius from a Scottish dealer when I was browsing for new vendors. The coin was listed for a really good price, and also liked the overall wear yet the name Caesar still readable. Since it took me by surprise, I decided to gift myself this lifetime issue of a Julius Caesar denarius for my birthday which comes after a fortnight from Julius Caesar's. I really hoped to get the coin by 12th July, but still happy it only took two weeks to arrive.

Please post your Julius Caesars or anything relevant.

Congrats, and happy birthday! Like @Mat said, you can't go wrong with ol' JC!

Here's the lifetime portrait denarius I had in my old Twelve Caesars set. Sure, it had been around the block a few times, but for me to get a lifetime piece with his portrait and most of his name on the flan, for slightly less than 500 bucks, sounded good to me. I didn't mind the banker's marks.

One of these days I will get myself a Julius Caesar coin, I should do it sooner than later because the prices of these coins have been going up and up for the past several years.

Investment wise I think JC are an excellent investment.

Some authors say Caesar's elephant could be trampling a carnyx and the obverse symbolizes Caesar's victory over the Celtic tribes of Gaul in his epic eight-year conquest, in which case the elephant would represent Caesar himself or Rome. Others say it may reference Caesar's victory at the Battle of Thapsus in 49 BC, where he defeated Roman and Numidian forces who fielded war elephants.

A most enigmatic issue in ancient coinage, see https://www.cointalk.com/threads/caesars-elephant-and-snake-what-do-they-mean.343865/
