Update! I was reading the catalog of Wiczay's collection published in 1814 and he apparently had a copy of the OP coin in his collection! One important note about this catalogue: it uses heraldic directions rather than the traditional numismatic ones, so when e.g. he says "portrait left" he really means "portrait right"! The description of #2131 would read in English (and with modern numismatic conventions), "IVLIA PAVLA AVG, her bust right; VESTA, goddess standing left -- see table II no. 25" And here's table II, no. 25: It's obvious to anyone reading the catalog that all of the illustrations are not of actual coins, but of design types, and the portraits are not reflective of ancient Roman style.
The coins of Roman Collector and lrbguy are both published Lipanoff forgeries from same obverse but different reverse die. I want to avoid that this fakes with impossible varieties will be established as authentic and this not existing variants established as existing although they do not exist for authentic coins. Not too surprising given the pairing of the Victoria reverse (Lipanoff style) from their Balbinus fake, and the Lipanoff obverse with their hairy upper lip. Thanks for digging this out. I guess when the Bulgarians run out of coins underground they go into business for themselves. Where is Caesar when you need him? Anything on the Mamaea with the Domna style Vesta reverse?
