I get in front of the storm door when the sun is shining through it, and put my coins on a sticky note pad for an even background. They got direct sunlight so that my artificial light sources wouldn't be casting shadows over the coins. Elevated my phone, used a timer, and the focus and clarity is about as could as I think I could expect from a Motorola single camera. Judge me here, and enjoy my Canadian large cents. I enjoy them, anyway lol.
