Alex has the distinct advantage of having the answers in front of him. Really, they really get some good contestants on that show. I am amused how often I know the answers. My problem (which would get me pole-axed on that show) is that the information doesn't move from my brain to my button pushing finger and mouth quickly enough.
Alex can be very condescending and smug. Especially when he's revealing the answer in language other than English.
