anther nice group of LRB JA! i like the valens best i think, that weird little captive guy is awesome.
What I find interesting is that that coin comes from the first period issues, before they started adding field marks to the reverses. So the engravers had a little more room to work with on those coins than later ones.
Just won this little Honorius/Victory Crowning Emperor type. It may not look like much, but like so many coins of the Theodosian Dynasty, these were not generally well-made. This is the finest example I've seen. Much better than anything currently on vcoins, acsearch, and wildwinds. And much better than the one coin of its type CNG ever chose to list as a separate lot... CNG 191 Lot 309 Sold for $92 before buyer's fees. I got mine for $9 shipped. Shhh
Nice pickup, JA ... eye-pleasing desert patina, eh? Sadly, I don't have any Honorius examples to add to your thread oh, oops => ummm, which coin did you buy, the top one? (it's awesome too)
Well, what's a man to do when he's offered nice coins for cheap? Buy them of course! Seller's pics... Yeah - great modius on Genius, eh? The depiction of Sol running with whip on the Constantine II also has great style and a super strike.
NIKE Nipples => Just do it ... ummm, and that Bullman certainly has some game as well!! (he may have jockey underwear endorsement possibilities?)
