My dealer picked this up from a first time customer who walked in and I gotta say..it’s pretty awesome!

    Definitely a unique coinage.

In case anyone is wondering the weight is ~11 grams and the gold is high purity.

I am 1/4 Japanese so I couldn’t pass up sharing this xD

Those are real show stoppers! I might look for one at Balt./Whitman.

Yeah for sure. I can say in my experience I don’t think I’ve ever come across one before.

They definitely aren’t common that’s for sure.

I imagine most of them were melted down in the last 150 years or so.

They are beautiful and expensive. Was this 1 like $3,000-4,000 ?

Nah it was in the $2,000-$2,500 range.

I think that is a very fair price considering the scarcity of Kobans in general.

    That is pretty cool.
Forever out of my price range unless I win the lottery...but still fun to drool over :)

Great item. Something to drool over. Thanks for sharing.

I was able to get one about 30 years ago. I bought it as a fake, which I believed it was. I should dig it out and examine it again to make sure.
