Yeah, you'll have more info of that there is no doubt. Anyone who goes to a show of that quality gets more info - can't be avoided. I'll let it stay at that for now, think you'll see what I mean by the time you get back.
You guys at the same show, those Lincolns have no chance. Best of luck, and have fun guys! :thumb: Phoenix
Andy Skrabalak ( spelling ?) and Jim Sprankle will also be there, so for us, for a cpl of Lincoln guys, this is one H of a show. And the PCGS girls.lol.
You guys are about to have the CoinTime of your lives, ...if you live through it all. ENJOY YOURSELVES, and buy some coins that make you happy. If there aren't enough coins to satisfy you two, then buy someting else that would make you happy. Maybe a token or two? Or a draped bust in great condition. I know you don't need my prompting to have a full & rewarding time. Buy some coins and post them here. That's all we can ask. Bruce
Take photo's to share with us if you can. Good luck on your adventure. Stay Safe. God speed and God bless on your journey. Harry
Ok , The Shield is over, the reason I stayed up so late, love that show. Thanks for the good wishes everybody. It looks like at close of internet bidding a few of my hold bids held up, we'll see live action tommorow at 6:00 pm. Rlm, keep cell phone on, call me when you land. I'll be a few minutes away, so hold tight. I don't believe they allow cameras in the show, but my phone has a spycam, lol. We'll see.
I knew I should not have read this thread. I am jealous again. 1, you guys are going to a big show and 2, more members get a chance to meet. Have a great time and if you need bail money it may have to come in the form of re-wraped halves and cents. :hail:
Wow...Long Beach, Cali.. Funny thing, I was born there but never attended the coin shows. Well...maybe someday.
We survived the tripand I survived the auction. However, AJ is now either 4 cents richer or broke. i.e.3 S VDB's and a 14-D. He did well but for got his lap top. Using the house computer, so time is limited. Met Mr. Snow and Brian Wagner.
RLM is a sleepy head, 2 hours jet lag. We are on the house computer atthe hotel, just a quick check in. Ran into Brandon Kelly at lot viewing and picked up a super nice NGC AU-53 09-SVDB from him, then on to the auction. I was able to win a few lots I wanted, namely a NGC AU-58 SVDB and a pair of PCGS SVDB's, 64 RB and a 65RB, then a 1914-D PCGS AU-55, so a good night. 5 cents total so far:rolling: Had beer and hot wings with some of my CU friends after the auction. Funny story to be included later, you'll crack up, I was SOOOO embarrased, lol. Bourse wars start tommorow. Have a great night everybody.
Long day of travel + couple beers + Hot wings + busy day at the coin show= ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Need some downtime!!!
Can'tsleep too jazzed. Heres the story. Now, picture this. We are at a Heritage auction. Rlm and I are sitting near the front, and I excuse myself to go smoke a cig outside. On the way back in, just inside the auction room, I run into ( and I'm not name dropping, it is part of the story ) Rick Snow and Brian Wagner. Rick is king of the Indian cents and Brian Wagner is the top guy on the planet for Matte Proof Lincolns.... As I stop to chat with them, Rlm starts looking to the back of the room, and I think he is looking at me, but we cant make eye contact. I start waving my hand in a circular fashion, saying " come here RLM " silenty to myself. Meanwhile, I forget there is an auction going on. I am in a bidding war and dont even know it. The auctioneer see's me waving "come on...come on" and keeps increasing my bid. Super a#^ expensive coin, and I keep waving " come on"........finally ( totally oblivious to me ) I win the lot. Rick nudges me...." they need your bidder number" I say "what" and the whole room is staring at this guy ( me ) who just bought the rarest freakin large cent on the planet. When it sinks in, I wither faster than the Wicked Witch of the West when they poured the bucket of water on her. Oh My God, I am in trouble. I bought what? I BOUGHT WHAT ??? Moral of the story. Do not pick your nose, scratch your head, rub your ear, NOTHING when in a live auction. We ironed it out, I was ready to hide under the table in front of me, and guess what? It was all caught on the DVD they sell. LMAO. I'll buy one for the "posterity" of it. See folks, I can smile now, lol. What an experience, and luckily, I have no broken bones and was not arrested and carted off to the LB jail, or banished from the rest of the show. Yikes !!!!!
thats cool great story make sure you upload the video so we can all watch i am curious how did you get out of it ?
