I am Brand Spanking New to Coins but I have become obsessed with them in a relatively short time. Haha I am almost afraid to ask my questions because I do not wish to make a fool of myself. I purchased my first big coin about a week back, and I've been doing my own investigation into what kind of Error Coin it is. It is already graded by Anacs as a 1961 D/D Rpm-1 MS-64 It just felt like there was/is more to this coin. While looking at multiple error coins, I've noticed something MANY have in common. There is a very specific pattern / outline/ impression, I repeatedly keep seeing. Different coins, years, and Mint marks. I'm not even sure what I keep seeing, would even be created onto the coins. I've tried searching the net for what it is that I THINK I keep seeing and I still haven't found anything. Of course, I would like to be recognized if it is a real and true discovery. So... 1) how does one protect their findings? 2) It would not be a discovery piece... because it is visible on many varieties. 3) if you know what I am referencing and its common knowledge... Please let me know. Haha my fear, Is That it is and people just ignore it. 4) if you do know what I'm referring to, I'd LOVE to hear more about it and how they are created! Thank you for your time!
