Peter that was the thread I mentioned specifically. I thought about it for a few days and I decided that I would just have to adapt, I have had too much fun here to stop now. Please don't hold it against me, I rarely think of things father then I am saying them (It's so much more fun to think about the past! ) Gary, I just find it easier then using the buttons. Sure it adds a few more seconds but I just prefer it. Some of the boards I am on (but only one I post on regularly-the PCGS board) when you click the IMG tag I get an annoying pop up blocker notification each time I want to post a picture, where I have to click temporarily allow scripted windows or some such...It's a pain! Actually, I think it comes from a message board I joined back in 2000. It's run on an antiquated system and you HAVE to do the code yourself if you want to post more than one picture per post. That was the only board I posted on daily for a while and I've done my own coding ever since. I don't think it's possible to circumvent the forum system! I was on dialup from 2000 when I got a computer-November 2005. I never could understand what people were complaining about, the picture downloading is only a few seconds slower on dialup. Maybe I just had a really good provider? The only thing that is really noticible is video viewing. (I actually miss the dialup noise) Uploading the pictures, however, ugh that is so much better on high speed. I have over 110,000 photos on my website. If I were still on dialup it would still be loading from the first 10,000! I can't even imagine how long YouTube would take!
Y'all are just going to want to hold the phone on anything to do with pictures and CoinTalk until you see what I've got up my sleeve for this week. I do think this is going to be the biggest single new feature you've seen yet. Work starts on it today.
You must have just had a good provider - my current connection speed is: 28.8Kbs, and it does go lower than that.... Speedy
I never got that much when I used Netzero dial up. It only cost me $10 a month more to get Century Link DSL basic (slowest speed) and it runs at about 98 kbs. I was amazed at the difference. But you adapt to what you have.
The silly thing is - it would be CHEAPER to get DSL if I could....and it would only be like $5 more per month to get Cable Internet, but none of those come out here either. Speedy
I was on a 56.something connection most of the time, though occasionally it would get down to the 20s. I can't remember who my provider was though, I'll think about it and see if I can remember. I want to say it started with a D!
Dlink ? My dad lives in an area where Dial up or Sattelite is all he can get also. He doesn't use a computer, but I do. LOL Visiting him is kind of a pain, because I use my laptop for text messaging instead of having a cell phone. I am looking into using a satellite provider, but cost is a big factor.
Peter there might be a slight problem with the smiley you added. My signature line, now says, FROM THE DESK OF, FO SHIZZLE MY NIZZLE I think it is pretty funny, but the smiley code needs be renamed, as " T $" is used pretty commonly. lol EDIT: Okay my signature is looking okay, but T $ = T$
Peter, I sent you a PM but I am not sure it went through...hope it did! If it didn't I will resend...
I have a question, but maybe I am just a noob. About 2 days ago my screen when looking at forum posts is about 5,000 characters wide. Is there a setting I could change or something? Its so annoying its hard for me to read or post here. Lines used to wrap, with ads on the right, but now its just text and it scrolls over almost endlessly.
