Hello all! It's "Thrifty Thursday!" Reloaded. All Coins, Tokens and Medal on a small budget.
I haven't purchased a coin in about 5 years! [IMG] I bought this coin about when I first quit cigarettes.
For everyone, collecting on a "budget" and being thrifty is my way of doing things numismatically speaking. I bought this coin for just $32! Not bad, huh? :p
So, what level is your "thriftiness" and what is considered being just so?
Won't you post your coins? [IMG]

The majority of my coins would be considered "thrifty." Many are pieces others would consider junk, but I like the history they represent, like these German States coins I bought from a flea market for 8 cents or less each:

My thriftiest "junk box" buy was probably this, which I have posted elsewhere, Tannu Tuva, 1934 1 kopejek, purchased for 50 cents because neither I nor the dealer knew what it was. Tannu Tuva 1k obv.JPG Tannu Tuva 1k rev.JPG

In 2011 I bought 5 of the 25th Anniversary ASE Sets from the mint and sold 4 of them each for more than the 5 of them cost me.

Being a lumber token I though this was going to be a funny name token. I thought Ashepoo must be some kind discarded "poo" from Ash trees such as bark or sawdust. Turns out Ashepoo is an Indian tribe. Well, that's okay too. Only cost $33.

I bought this trachy of the Byzantine bad boy, Andronicus I, for $35. There's usually only one or two of these on vcoins at once time.

Saloon tokens aren't very appealing to me. And they are usually quite expensive.

Just a couple I bought in one of those eBay "online estate sale" listings.
Nothing fancy, but I thought they were pretty.

Anything under $100 is low budget for me these days if I'm after something "just to have one." Or two. These are two different combinations of obv/rev types. Obv1/Rev2 $69, Obv2/Rev2 $79.

Hey, I've got one of those, too! I sent mine off to PCGS... just for the heck of it.

The Ashepoo is also a river in South Carolina. Cool token.

Nice! Probably just leave it "raw'. Only paid $32. Not worth it in my opinion. It's also my next tattoo though. I have a tribal lion now. A nice leopard would be nice also! :)

That's a pretty decent large cent for "budget friendly."
