Question from a noobie: how secret is "secret" in secret Saturnalia? is it just secret until received? or are we supposed to somehow prevent the recipient from discovering which CoinTalk member sent it?

That's entirely up to the givers. You can hide your identity forever, or reveal it in the letter, or reveal it later. In the past we've started posting the coins we received from our Secret Saturns in the open forum with "thank you" notes.

Friends, whomever my Secret Santa is, I'm not saying you have to get me a sweet Aurelian or a sweet Constantius Chlorus, but won't you think of the children? Do you want my innocent son to be deprived of the pleasure of holding either an Aurelian or Constantius Chlorus because his dad is too addicted to Gordian III to pick a coin from one of those Emperors? Oh the humanity!

Did I mention Aurelian is my favorite of those two? Now, I'm not saying you should get me an Aurelian, buy what's in your heart, but if it's not an Aurelian then you may not have a heart of gold...which is a dirty rumor going around. You can dispell that by getting me an Aurelian, though no pressure, I'm sure anything you get me will be fine. Did I mention what a great Emperor Aurelian was?

@Sallent you’re being a little vague so I’m not getting the point. Can you be a little more specific?

Wow, like my wife always changing.
The other day it was Aurelian or a Philip I.
One day my wife says take the job on the other side of the U.S the next day its I don't want to move away from the grand kids, jeez.

You know I'm just kidding :)

Did they mint any Aurelian coins in coal?

Ok, I've got 39 people matched up at this point. If you want to play and sent me a PM, and haven't received an assigned person, send me another PM please. It's a lot to keep track of and it's easy for someone to slip through the cracks.

I've bought my Saturnalia gift coin, and received my partner's name. It is a member I had not previously heard of, so this should be fun.

I accidentally opened my Secret Santa gift. Seriously folks, would it hurt to write on the envelope "Secret Santa"?

It was definitely not an Aurelian...:(

...it was better! Much more better. So nice that I pocket carried it all day today and looked at it a dozen times throughout the day.

If I had to predict who the Secret Santa was, on a wild guess I'd say it was @Smojo , and if it was in fact you, thanks a million. And if it was someone else, whomever you are know that I am trilled with the gift. Thank you.

Ok, I won't leave the rest of you in suspense. Ill tell you what I got. My Secret Santa got me a [censored until Saturnalia]. And here is the picture of it so that you guys may admire this wonderful gift. Doesn't it just look great? 2-2-censored-stamp-transparent.png

That right there is the mark of an ideal gift or purchase. If I feel the need to pocket-carry it for a day or two before it goes into the safe deposit box, or it sits on my bedside table a little while, you know it's a good one.

When I got the envelope from JA I thought maybe he was sending me a freebie for being such a good customer. I had no idea it was a Secret Santa gift from someone here. It was thus accidentally opened.

That's my story anyway, and I'm sticking to it.

Lol, Don't know why you'd think it was me
I'm not sure maybe I read it some where, CT maybe. But there's talk about some lawyer dude in Florida, something about checking the mail here in a couple of weeks. All I can say about it is wait to open that one.
