Wow, hard to believe that outing took place over 17 years ago. It was a really fun day.

Nice old house also. I bet if they cut back some of those bushes. I'm just saying. :)

That was a great yard. Unfortunately, the owners of that house were miffed about my posting that outing online, because I'd made some comments about the condition of the house (which weren't intended to be derogatory), and they took it the wrong way. Revoked our permission to detect there. How they knew where to go read my old Internet post, I have no idea.

It's a lovely old house, but as of the last time I saw it, it still looked slightly neglected. Mind you, I'm not criticizing the owners- old Victorian houses must be quite a job to maintain. I'm not sure if the same owners have it today, or if it is even occupied.

It's in a neat neighborhood in Old Town, but tragically, there was a very infamous murder that happened on the same street, a few blocks down, just six years after my detector outing there. Despite that, it's still a charming neighborhood.

Fortunately, a lot of older homes up here are in decent condition as there is a law somewhere that says you have to maintain your property up to standards....
    "
    Duty of care
The duty of care owed by property owners refers to their legal obligation to maintain their property in a reasonably safe condition1. This includes protecting people from dangerous conditions or harm. Homeowners and real estate investors should be aware of their responsibilities when owning and managing residential property2.

That’s good, but the flip-side of such laws that I can imagine is that maybe a lot of these old houses, if they didn’t find owners who could afford to maintain them, would get torn down? But on the other hand, Brunswick’s Old Town is a National Historic Register area, so there might be laws preventing demolitions. Thankfully.

Still not sure exactly what this is. Struck thru? There is also embedded copper on the surface.

I don't really remember. I don't buy many coins. I think it was a find in change at a local store, but I am not sure.

These are a couple that I have pictures of. Neither are in very good condition, but they each have an interest to me. One is from New Orleans mint and the other is from Carson City mint. I try to obtain coins from these 2 mints when they are within my price range (i.e. cheap, lol). I've got a few others, just not photographed.
