    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

do any of you folks have a coin that shows the god Men? a quick search of CT didn't reveal any.

if so, can i use a picture of it in my class?

in anatomy when we talk about some term that has its origin the the ancient world, i try to have a history cameo appearance with a coin. today, i showed this picture of one of TIFs coin with a hippocamp when we were checking out the hippocampus on our sheep brains.

sorry i didn't ask first, by i knew you wouldn't mind TIF (if you do mind, let me know).

here's a brain hippocampus with a "sea horse"...

it's an important brain part for memory.

another brain part we do is the "pons", this is bridge in latin, so i may show off a cool bridge coin as well.

anyway, men, a lunar diety is where we get the term menstruation from ...lunar...monthly cycle. interesting! didn't know that till i say it in the sayles book on provincial coins recently.

so any Men coin pics would be appreciated!

Mên standing right, holding sceptre and Nike with trophy in left hand, sceptre in right; cock to left and bucranium at feet

That was my introduction to the word "bucranium".
