1890 Seated Liberty Quarter mintage of only 80,590 Clear date, low mintage, enough details to be a keeper...and it looks like it's been in the pockets of every horror movie victim ever. Post your best horribly mangled coin (if you want; I thought it would be fun.)
What's more horrifying than a fake? Contemporary counterfeit 1874 Half Dollar made out of non metal. Feels more like a poker chip.
Haha reminds me of my gold French 100 Franc I posted about a month or two ago that people said looked like a zombie (due to the lighting position.)
ok fellow coin collectors, time to bring out a tissue and cry about the damage of a wonderful coin. It's junk I know but can't bring myself to throw it away or drill a hole and make it a key fob. So I'll hang onto it for another 30 years (as I have already) and let you see a TRUE Horror story. My guess is it was burned (house fire? Barn fire?) and then some clown tried to put a replacement back on the reverse and did a TERRIBLE job. The man I bought it from said "Ok I'll sell it, it's trash or treasure, I don't know." I know it's trash but it's Friday 13th material. Now wipe your eyes after weeping for the loss of a great coin.
