I wish I could take credit for the listings ending, but I'm pretty sure they were all one-day listings. (The better to get the scams through ). When a seller ends a listing early, it will say "Seller ended this listing early" at the top of the auction page. When eBay ends an auction, it will come up "Invalid Item" when the auction number entered.
Additional info: she just got negative feedback from a buyer who won one of her fake coins for $1700+ (probably is the same one she just sold over the weekend). I took a chance and emailed the buyer. Apparently our "friend" didn't refund or anything. I'll let everyone know how it goes. I'm hoping the buyer will email me so I can talk to him about his options through eBay.
please keep up the geat work susan, it is people like you that make it better for all of us. Your devotion and honesty are very easy to see. thank you.
"I'm speaking in reference to this particular Power Seller. If you can stop her from hawking fakes, you will have accomplished something no one else has been able to do." Jody. Hey Jody wasn't this the same dealer that was talked about a lot last year on the e-bay forum. If it was, that was the longest thread I had ever read on e-bay.
These type of people make me sick. I as well report dirty auction when I recognize one. I feel the worst out there is the SGS guy, he just drives me nuts!
SGS!! Do a search within Coin Talk about Star Grading and we have beat that horse to death, but it still rides! http://www.cointalk.org/showpost.php?p=22346&postcount=1
Yes, there is. But unless he emails me, I'm not going to be able to explain that process to him. He has over 150 FB, so I'm hoping he would know the procedure if he did. Hopefully, I'll hear from him and be able to help. Andy, yes, it was her that was discussed on the eBay boards. Overall, I avoid the eBay discussion boards - too much garbage to sift through to get to anything worthwhile. I check them over about once a month, sometimes every other month. It depends on the time I have available. I try to devote my forum time to this board, so I don't make eBay's a top priority.
Yes, Now all posts, with reference to her, are quickly deleted by the eBay moderators. Again, "Money talks, and xxxxxxxx walks".

Jody526 I find it very interesting that the FBI white crime /interstate commerce /mail fraud/ units have not investigated a matter like this. It sounds like perhaps aiding and abetting a criminal activity may be taking place. Now I know that e-bay is a corporate entity but if, and without knowing I state if, individual department heads receive bonus based upon sales and if these individual department heads gave directions that protect actual frauds then a case for investigation may exisit. A general definition of aiding and abetting is provided below: "Aiding and abetting is a theory of criminal liability. You can be guilty of a crime either as a principal perpetrator or as an aider and abettor. Aiding and abetting applies to someone who assists in or facilitates the doing of a crime. To be held accountable as an aider and abettor, you must know of the criminal objective and do something to make it succeed. For example, if you drive your friend to a meeting where you know your friend is going to buy drugs, you may be an aider and abettor in the drug transaction". "The key here is knowledge. While the level of participation of the aider and abettor may be relatively minor, the prosecution must show more than presence in a vehicle carrying drugs or association with conspirators known to be involved in a crime. In other words, mere presence at the scene of a crime, even with guilty knowledge that a crime is being committed, isn’t enough to make you liable for the crime itself, unless and until you do something to help the crime succeed." If anyone out there thinks that he or she may be a victim of fraud, perhaps you should make a phone call and inquire.
Susan et al, all the above auctions are new ended, so I went through all her current coin auctions looking for obvious copies/reproductions. I found nothing as obvious as those above; certainly no Morgan "proofs". The one I thought might be a fake was 3953674999 for a BU Maria Theresa thaler. My ignorance of thalers caused me to check it out and it could be, in fact a modern MT since they are apparently still minted and currently used in many countries, all still with the 1780 date, so that coin could actually be a recent mintage and they can be had for nine or ten dollars. Except for her misleading descriptions, misleading information on the 2x2s, repeated listings of obvious copies, and bazillion negative feedbacks, she has a fairly decent selection of coins, presuming many aren't manufactured in China. If she put a little integrity and work into her auctions, she could have a respectable business. Fred
That's why I think it's going to take some time. While the seller is incredibly unethical, the auctions that truly violate any concrete rules are few and far between. She has been walking this fence for a long time and knows how to do it. I reported all of the auctions that were disobeying concrete rules. I check her new listings every morning to see if there are any more to report. I have started watching her feedback and will contact buyers who leave negative feedback. It's going to take quite a while, but I think she can be stopped.
It means plated with a layer of silver/gold that is very thin. I think 100 mil is 1/1000th of an inch. Usually silver is 100 mil and gold is 10 mil (much thinner than silver layers.)
"The good news is that a revised Code of Conduct was just posted on the site! http://pages.ebay.com/coins_code_of_conduct/ You will notice in #3 under the first bullet point that we now require that “the listing title AND description clearly state that the item is a copy or reproduction”. You may also notice that a note was added re: restrikes. “Note: Restrikes are permitted for sale and they are not required to have “copy” or “reproduction” incused in the metal or printed on the paper thereof, if the item was produced or authorized for minting by the original issuing government.” In the future, you can find this Coins Code of Conduct through the "Guidelines for Selling Coins" link on the Coins & Paper Money category portal page at http://coins.ebay.com" Susanlynn9. Makes me wonder if they saw my posting on Aiding and abetting in a crime in addition to everyone else here bringing that matter of suspested criminal activity taking place on their site. Then again I collect Napoleon gold francs so maybe I'm having an illusion of graduer. You know it is hard typing when one hand is tucked inside of one's vest. Especially when wearing a big hat.
Almost got burned by her. I almost got cooked by her on a 1995-W Eagle reproduction. I ended up winning the auction (I think it ran to about $200.00) and THEN noticed that it was a repro. I flat out told her that I wasn't going to pay for it so she agreed to give me pos feedback if I payed her auction fee of about which I did. I consider myself lucky to have learned a pretty cheap lesson and am VERY careful and ask a lot of questions now. Steve
I don't think it's an illusion at all. It's all of us together that will make the changes happen, and I think this is the first. Your pat on the back is well-deserved (though you may want to see someone about the Napoleon complex.... )
That seller has been liquidating that same estate for over a year now.And the auctions are always private.
